Larry Joseph Ledet entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the age 59 after a courageous battle with Castleman's Disease. A native of Marrero, and a resident of Robert for about 20 years. He was the loving father of Caleb Ledet (Ashley), Ross Ledet, Melanie Henly (James Evans), and David Henly (Carlie). Son of the late William Ledet Sr., and Mabel Thibodeaux Ledet. Grandfather of Brennan Ledet, Ava Ledet, A.J Henly, Isabella Henly, and Lexi Henly. A native of Marrero, and a resident of Robert for about 20 years. He was the loving father of Caleb Ledet (Ashley), Ross Ledet, Melanie Henly (James Evans), and David Henly (Carlie). Son of the late William Ledet Sr., and Mabel Thibodeaux Ledet. Grandfather of Brennan Ledet, Ava Ledet, A.J Henly, Isabella Henly, and Lexi Henly. Brother of Clifford Ledet (the late Rita), Laurence Ledet (Elaine), Mabel Rogers (the late George), Geraldine Cardinal (the late Russell), Jenny Pendleton (John), Elaine Daigle (Henry), Velma Favre (Butch), Jimmy Ledet (Teresa), and Lenny Ledet (Dan), as well as the late Rosalie Chelette (Ray), Rudolph Ledet (Mary), William Ledet Jr. (Betty), Adele Ledet, and David Ledet Sr. (Scharlene). Former husband and constant friend of Jamie Henly. He was a grain room control operator at ADM in St. Rose/Destrehan. Outside of work, he loved to spend days outside, riding horses, and spending time with his family. He was a loving and giving person who had a heart of gold. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank North Oaks Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for joining him in his fight, and also to thank his niece, Stacy Bruce, who distinguished herself by going above and beyond in helping him.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, officiated by Pastor David Murray.
