JoAnn Dufrene Zar entered her Heavenly home on January 6, 2018 at the age of 86. JoAnn, born in Des Allemands, LA. in 1931 is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Steven Paul Zar, Jr. Loving mother of Clark Zar (Linda Arceneaux Zar), Polly Zar Waguespack (F. P. Poche Waguespack, III), William Zar, Kelly Zar (the late Mona Frickey Zar) and the late Keith Zar. JoAnn Dufrene Zar entered her Heavenly home on January 6, 2018 at the age of 86. JoAnn, born in Des Allemands, LA. in 1931 is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Steven Paul Zar, Jr. Loving mother of Clark Zar (Linda Arceneaux Zar), Polly Zar Waguespack (F. P. Poche Waguespack, III), William Zar, Kelly Zar (the late Mona Frickey Zar) and the late Keith Zar. Devoted grandmother of Brandy Zar (Chris), Bryan Zar (Brooke), William Zar, Jr., Adam Zar, and Brett Zar. She was preceded in death by her parents, William (Willie) Dufrene and Osiana Matherne Dufrene, her brother Edward Dufrene and her sisters Mable Hebert, Mildred Bergeron Arceneaux, Pearl Boyer, Mary Dufrene, Irene Reid, and Shirley Wilson. JoAnn was the daughter-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steven P. Zar, Sr. Sister in Law of Lillian Kreger and Rose Millet. Preceding her in death was her brother-in-law Andrew Zar and sister-in-law's Lucrecia LeBlanc, Viola Creppel, Celestine Falterman and Margaret Creppel. JoAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but take comfort knowing she is in heaven with her Savior. Following the completion of her studies with Westwego High School JoAnn also graduated from Soule' Business College. She retired from Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court. Her hobbies included reading, quilting and knitting. JoAnn found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. She will be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling the grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. Visitation 8:00a.m. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Pius Mausoleum in Crown Point, LA.
